    The floodplains around Nijmegen, the forests towards Berg en Dal and the farmlands in between. We have put together a beautiful route that takes you through this challenging area. It is also the #12 of the Dutch Ultra Series.

    All finishers of our Ultras receive a UTMB indexation.

    The Gelderse Poort Ultra

    This Gelderse Poort Ultra is a worthy conclusion to the Dutch Ultra Series. This Ultra has a varied route through the floodplains of the Gelderse Poort and many elevation meters around the Duivelsberg and the forests around Groesbeek.

    Beautiful nature

    The route of this trail runs through the dazzling nature of the floodplains around Nijmegen. Participants also run through the forests towards Berg en Dal and pass characteristic farmlands. A special area, with many hiking trails and unique plants and animals. We hope for snow! That makes the landscape a real winter wonderland.

    Wet feet guaranteed, between 700 – 1000 meters of altitude, technical paths, forest paths, clog paths, heathland, forests and hills… lots of hills.

    Landgoed hotel holthurnsche hof

    For the Gelderse Poort Ultra we are guests at Landgoed Hotel Holthurnsche Hof. This hotel is uniquely situated on a beautiful estate between the hills of Berg en Dal.

    After this Ultra, please take the time to take a seat in their excellent à la carte restaurant. It is wonderful to relax here while enjoying a tasty dinner.

    It is also possible to book an overnight stay at the hotel. You will spend the night in a comfortable hotel room which is designed for a proper rest.

    Participants have until 5:00 PM to finish.

    At the starting time there is an explanation about the route and the nature reserve.

    Information

    • Start: 9:00 AM (competition secretariat open from 8:30 AM)
    • You navigate using a GPX file via your own watch or phone
    • At a finish you will receive a UTMB index
    • Time limit: 8h (finish before 05:00 PM)
    • Aid stations: 3 or 4 times along the route
    • There are no cups available at our aid stations, so make sure you have your own race cup or flasks with you.

    Participants will receive an email from us two days before the event with all the information needed to be well prepared at the start.

    A beautiful area where the participants first make a round towards Berg en Dal, through the floodplains of the Gelderse Poort and then back to the Estate via the Duivelsberg. After arrival, the participants prepare for the second loop with steep elevation meters and many single tracks.
