The Utrechtse Heuvelrug is a beautiful vast area with varying natural landscapes. The UHUT Winter edition consists of 2 rounds of 50 km. The Basecamp is located at Molecaten Landgoed Ginkelduin, where we will be situated on Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, participants will run a 50+km Ultra Trail towards Rhenen. On Sunday the other 50+km loop will be run towards Doorn. Participants can also run the entire UHUT100 which covers a total of 109 km in 2 days.
A tough but unique Ultra challenge that you must have participated in at least once
All Ultra participants receive a Tracker, which allows their friends and family to follow them LIVE on a special website. You will receive this tracker on the day of the event when you pick up your bib number.
This Ultra is #11 of the Dutch Ultra Series 2024 (DUS2024). In the last weekend of every month we organize an Ultra that is part of this.
Finishers of our Ultra’s automatically receive UTMB index.
A unique Ultra Trail, where you cross the most beautiful paths that run over the entire Utrechtse Heuvelrug.
We organise this Ulltra Trail on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug for many years now. The route is being adjusted constantly and is at all times coordinated with the managers of all nature reserves through which we pass. At the moment, the UHUT100 is 109 km long.
We pass countless unique estates, each with its own history. Thanks to these estates, you will find lanes with old trees on both sides that were the decors of old driveways for horse and carriage. We know the area well and in consultation with the many landowners we can offer you beautiful single tracks and incredible views.
With start and finish at Landgoed Ginkelduin in Leersum, we are at the core of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Our participants can choose from a beautiful 50+ km Ultra towards Rhenen or from an equally beautiful but completely different 50+ km Ultra towards Doorn. To run the 109km Ultra Trail, participants run the two Ultra’s on both Saturday and Sunday.
Routes are compiled with pleasure by Chris van Beem.
Start and finish are at Molecaten Landgoed Ginkelduin.
This estate is beautifully situated in the woods, and is located nearby Leersum in the forrest, 50 minutes from Breda and 60 minutes from Eindhoven.
You can park on the grounds of Molecaten Estate Ginkelduin. Do not park the car on the road, but in the designated parking spaces. Please follow the instructions when parking attendants are present.
Due to the limited daylight in winter, the UHUT100 is divided over 2 days. If you choose to run the entire UHUT100 route, you will run 50+km on Saturday and 50+km on Sunday.
On Saturday, the loop will be towards Doorn. It’s a beautiful and varied ultra trail that showcases the area between Leersum and Doorn. You’ll encounter many single tracks alternating with stunning heathlands and sandy stretches. There are some elevation gains, but clearly fewer than in the other loop on Sunday.
On Sunday, you will run towards Rhenen. This is a challenging ultra trail that takes you through the area between Leersum, Amerongen, Elst, and Rhenen. You’ll experience a lot of variety and significant elevation gains. It’s a beautiful route through a demanding area that we know very well.
Trail Events organizes an ultra every last weekend of the month. These 12 ultras together form the Dutch Ultra Series (DUS).
Do you run 1, 2, or 3 ultras each quarter? Then by the end of the year, you will have earned the gold, silver, or bronze DUS2024 medal, respectively!
The DUS2024 is a challenge not everyone can conquer. Yet, there are still many participants in the race for 2024!
