    The Amerongse Berg Trail

The forests around the Amerongse Berg are special. The Eenzame Eik (meaning: Lonely Oak) and many old trees characterize this area. During the Amerongse Berg Trail you are sure to encounter many altimeters. There are lots of single tracks and forest paths complemented by beautiful stretches of heather. The Amerongse Berg Trail crosses a beautiful area of nature at the center of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug.

The routes have been compiled in consultation with the managers of the area. This is going to be a challenging trail that puts your calves to the test.

    More information

All the routes of the Amerongse Berg Trail pass through the Amerongse State forests. The Eenzame Eik (meaning: Lonely Oak) and the highest point of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug are of course part of the route.

The area is characterized by varied climbs. There are historic paths and the woods alternate with heathland. The old avenues are interspersed with playful single tracks and both routes have considerable altimeters to overcome.

    Boshotel Overberg

The Amerongse Berg Trail will start and finish at Boshotel Overberg. Participants run over a long avenue into the forests behind het Egel Meer (meaning: Hedgehog Lake) and all participants eventually return to the finish on the lawn behind the hotel after a final and challenging loop.

We all gather at the Boshotel in Overberg. There is some available parking space next to the hotel, but we advise all participants to travel together to this event as much as possible. There is a public transport connection and the nearest station, Veenendaal West, is 5 km away.
